This Summer 2014 globetrotting Dj Jimmy Valencia is in Ibiza bringing for the first time to the White Island his eclectic Dj show packed with sexy Afrotribal & Brazilian rhythms, dancers & live percussion... BOOM DA PANELA
Originally from Spain, Jimmy Valencia started playing Hip-Hop & Reggaeton in 2001 at London’s renowned Vestax Dj Academy. After playing in Central London’s Urban circuit for a few years, in 2007 Jimmy started experimenting with more Latin & Afrotropical sounds & became part of the dynamic London Urban Latin scene, performing several times at Europe’s biggest Urban Latin party, La Bomba, regularly held at Ministy of Sound & Pacha London. Also during his career in London, Jimmy Valencia Dj’ed on some exclusive events for international brands including Nike, Corona Beer, Channel 4, 55DSL, Selfridges, & Topshop.
In 2011, Jimmy decided to pack up his records and head down to South America with the goal of learning from the different electronic & local music scenes, and incorporating new sounds & flavours into his eclectic Tropical Dj set.
His first stop was Brazil, where he became resident DJ for the most popular Latin party in Rio de Janeiro, played from the top of a Favela during New Year´s Eve and performed in two of the most respected clubs in São Paulo, such as Lab Club and Neu Club.
Jimmy continued his South American tour playing in Colombia’s electronic capital, Bogotá, where he quickly established a name for himself, sharing booth with the top Tropical Bass #badboys in Colombia such as Dj Vitola (Miller & Shock Dj Mashup 2011 Winner), Dj PHO (Red Bull Thre3style 2011/12 Champion of Colombia) & Juan Mr Moombah (Llorona Records) and played in some of Bogota´s most respectable clubs such as Kea Bar, La Villa, Latora 4Brazos, Bogaloop e InVitro. He also worked with Red Bull in the past Rock al Parque XVIII, which is no other than the biggest outdoor festival in Latin America!
Now back in Europe and with a record box packed with unique world tribal beats, globetrotting Dj Jimmy Valencia has big plans, including expanding his Boom Da Panela brand, which is already an established music blog & a monthly radio show.
This Summer 2014 Boom Da Panela also becomes the name of Jimmy´s own club night in Ibiza, as well as a brand new audiovisual show that combines Jimmy´s electronic and non-electronic music full of contagious tribal & carnival rhythms from Africa, Brasil & Latin America, alongside exotic Samba & Capoeira dancers, and live percussion from Ibiza´s best Batucada school: A Tutiplen, directed by musician David Romano.
